NTEU 137 has filed grievances for delayed payments of both FLAP and JAC awards. the issue appears to be occurring throughout several ports within the Miami Field Office.
This week, chapter leaders had a #rd Step with a DFO appointee and mission support management regarding excessively delayed FLAP payments at MIA. CBP acknowledged an oversight error which should have never occurred. This error caused an unacceptable delay in FLAP payments for over 25 employees at MIA. In the meeting, CBP provided proof that these payments had been processed and the affected employees would be getting paid in their next paycheck if they hadn't already. Because of the delay, NTEU requested compensation. CBP has 7 days to provide a reply.
Similar situations have been identified at other ports and are being dealt with at the local level informally and through separate grievances. Contact the Chapter office if you believe you are affected by these delays and have not received your award money.
